The Spiritual Growth of Every Jewish Child

One of the greatest moments in any Jewish person’s life is the Bar or Bat Mitzvah ceremony. At Temple Akiba, we honor this event as a true transition. We take pride in our personal connection to each student. The Rabbi, Cantor and Educator make time to get to know every child and their family, not just in preparation for the special day, but in preparation for a lifetime of Jewish connections.

The ceremony occurs as part of Temple Akiba’s Shabbat Service. Our Bar or Bat Mitzvah students lead a beautiful and moving service with support of the Rabbi, Cantor and community. The ceremony is not a culmination, but rather a milestone, as our youth continue through to confirmation and post confirmation.
