Temple Akiba ECC Transitional Kindergarten Program

 Overview

Our Transitional Kindergarten (TK) program is designed for children from approximately four to five years of age. TK is a year in which students can develop both academic and social skills as they prepare for kindergarten. Students in TK will be exposed to engaging experiences and individual support as they develop their cognitive, emotional, and physical skills. A classroom filled with hands-on play-based activities in addition to academic learning will help children build a strong foundation for becoming lifelong learners and long-term academic success.

 Curriculum

·       The curriculum will be age-appropriate, play-based, and aligned with the California Preschool Learning Foundations, focusing on early literacy, numeracy, social-emotional development, and critical thinking skills.

·       Our curricular goals center around developmentally age-appropriate kindergarten preparations that provide the essential social, emotional, and academic skills required to meet important learning standards. Our intentional learning centers offer hands-on multisensory activities, materials, and purposeful play.
